Women In Trucking Announce Finalist

Women In Trucking Association and Freightliner Trucks have announced the five finalists for the 2016 Influential Woman in Trucking award, which highlights the achievements of female role models and pioneers in the trucking industry. This is the sixth year for the award, which was developed in 2010 as a way to honour female leaders and to attract and advance women within the trucking industry.

Nominees included women from all over the industry in corporate, manufacturing, supplier, owner-operator, driver, and sales or dealership roles. The 2016 Influential Woman in Trucking award finalists are:

Carolyn Gable, president and CEO, New Age Transportation, Distribution & Warehousing
Elise Chianelli, director of product management, safety & compliance, PeopleNet
Karen Jones, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Ryder System
Ramona Hood, managing director, FedEx Truckload Brokerage
Sherri Garner Brumbaugh, president and CEO, Garner Trucking

With the outstanding nominations submitted, it was extremely difficult for the judges to narrow it down to the finalists. The judges for the 2016 award are Ellen Voie, WIT president and CEO; Meredith Ochs, talk show host, Sirius XM Radio; and Kari Rihm, president, Rihm Kenworth and the 2015 Influential Woman in Trucking award recipient.

All five finalists have been asked to participate on a panel at the WIT Accelerate! Conference & Expo to be held in Dallas November 7-9. The winner will be announced at the panel discussion, “Career Satisfaction and Productivity: Steps That Will Ensure Your Career Fulfillment and Success” on Tuesday, November 8.
