Walmart Increases Driver Wages

In order to attract more drivers in the United States, Walmart is promising truckers more predictable schedules and significant salary increases. Specifically, Walmart’s driver wages will increase by $14 million from a combination of a per-mile increase, activity and drop-off pay.

For drivers, this means an average salary of $87,500 and three weeks of vacation time in the first year.

Executive Vice President of Walmart’s Supply Chain, Greg Smith, said, “This wage increase reflects the importance of our private fleet and our commitment to recruiting and retaining the best drivers in the industry.”
