Average diesel prices remain fairly steady

 

The average cost for a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide on Monday remained nearly the same compared to a week previous, according to the Energy Information Administration.

On Monday, Aug. 6, the EIA reported the U.S. average price per gallon of diesel cost $3.223, just three-tenths of a cent lower than the week before.

The average price per gallon for diesel fuel is 49.4 cents higher than a year ago.

Following are the average prices by region as reported by the EIA for Monday:

  • U.S. – $3.223, down three-tenths of a cent
  • East Coast – $3.222, down one-tenth of a cent
  • New England – $3.271, down three-tenths of a cent
  • Central Atlantic – $3.393, up three-tenths of a cent
  • Lower Atlantic – $3.093, down three-tenths of a cent
  • Midwest – $3.151, down a half cent
  • Gulf Coast – $2.995, down one-fifth of a cent
  • Rocky Mountain – $3.361, no change
  • West Coast – $3.717, down three-tenths of a cent
  • West Coast less California – $3.432, down a half cent
  • California – $3.943, down one-fifth of a cent.
